Brownley Solidifies Victory Over Gorell in CA-26
Today, the Ventura County Registrar of Voters released the third vote update since election night in California’s 26th Congressional District. Congresswoman Julia Brownley has solidified her victory over Jeff Gorell and is currently ahead by 3,210 votes. Following today’s update, Gorell conceded the race. Congresswoman Brownley released the following statement:
“With today’s update, and our lead growing further, Jeff Gorell has conceded. I wish him well in his future endeavors, and greatly appreciate his service to our country and our community.
Clearly our message of fighting for the middle class, our veterans, and for advancing a women’s economic agenda, resonated with Ventura County voters, but they also made it clear that they expect Congress to work together to move our country forward. I am so proud to be able to continue to represent Ventura County in Congress, and cannot thank enough the thousands of supporters who worked so hard on our campaign to make sure our voice was heard.”
Happy early St. Patrick’s Day from Ventura! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to join the Elks Lodge in their 29th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
It was wonderful to see so many Ventura County residents turn out for the Planned Parenthood rally last week. There is no doubt that President Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking away a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions and to take back critical protections in current healthcare legislation. Our voices are being heard. We must continue to speak out.
