Brownley Increases Lead Over Gorell as Ballot Counting Continues in CA-26

Today, the Ventura County Registrar of Voters released the first vote update since election night in California’s 26th Congressional District. Brownley picked up an additional 493 votes, nearly doubling her overall lead. Following today’s update, Julia Brownley for Congress spokeswoman Rachel Estrada released the following statement:

“The process is moving forward and the results are coming in as expected. Congresswoman Brownley won the precinct vote, the vote by mail vote, and today’s vote update. While there are still votes to be counted, we feel positive about the trend, as late-counted ballots in California traditionally favor Democrats. With today’s update, we are confident that Julia Brownley will continue serving as Ventura County’s congresswoman.”
