Brownley Declares Victory Over Gorell in CA-26
Today, the Ventura County Registrar of Voters released the second vote update since election night in California’s 26th Congressional District. Brownley widened her lead from 1,030 votes to 2,370, more than doubling her lead in Ventura County. Following today’s update, Congresswoman Julia Brownley released the following statement:
“I am honored to have the privilege to continue serving as Ventura County’s Congresswoman. This was a hard fought race and I have the utmost respect for Jeff Gorell—especially for his service to our country.
Today’s update confirms that the majority of voters in Ventura County have chosen a representative who will champion their values in Congress. I will continue to stand up for women and families, fight for our veterans, and work to bring jobs and economic security to Ventura County. I am excited to get to work in the 114th Congress and will work tirelessly to find bipartisan solutions in Washington.”
Happy early St. Patrick’s Day from Ventura! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to join the Elks Lodge in their 29th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
It was wonderful to see so many Ventura County residents turn out for the Planned Parenthood rally last week. There is no doubt that President Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking away a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions and to take back critical protections in current healthcare legislation. Our voices are being heard. We must continue to speak out.
