CAMARILLO, CA (November 6, 2012) –Assemblymember Julia Brownley was elected to Congress in California’s 26th Congressional district today. With 100% of precincts reporting, Brownley earned 52% of the vote for Congress, defeating State Senator Tony Strickland.
“I am so honored that the people of Ventura County have entrusted me to represent them in Congress. I promise to fight for Ventura County to create jobs, expand the middle class, improve education, protect Social Security and Medicare and stand up for women’s rights,” Brownley said. “Representing Ventura County in Congress will be one of the greatest honors of my life.
